About This Spot
Walking into Myung San, you’re immediately wrapped in the quiet hum of a neighborhood spot that feels genuinely lived-in. It’s the sort of humble Korean restaurant where the pace slows down just a bit—inviting you to settle in, share stories, and savor more than just the food. The ambiance is unpretentious and cozy, a welcoming refuge for those who appreciate authentic flavors served with a straightforward warmth.
The modest space echoes with soft, low conversations, punctuated by subtle laughter and the occasional clatter of dishes passed around the table. It’s clear this isn’t a place chasing trends but one rooted in tradition and care, where the focus is on familiar dishes that feel like they were lovingly prepared in someone’s home kitchen.
At Myung San, dining is an experience threaded with moments of discovery. The silky richness of soy-marinated raw crab stands out—not just for its bright, fresh taste but for the way it invites you to slow down and appreciate the layers of flavor mingling with rice, almost like a delicate seafood sushi on a shell. Alongside these, the seafood scallion pancakes reveal a perfect balance of textures and savory notes that make each bite linger. These dishes aren’t flashy but carry a quiet confidence, speaking to the care in their preparation and the deep culinary roots behind them.
Beyond these highlights, the table is made warm with a variety of well-loved banchan and the comforting presence of hearty stews and grilled meats that invite sharing. There’s a homely rhythm to the meal here—it’s as much about the food as the chance to connect over familiar tastes, comfortable service, and the unspoken camaraderie among regulars who come for those exact reasons.
Myung San’s charm lies in its ability to feel like a secret well-kept by those who know: a place where the flavors carry the memory of home, and where every visit invites you to find your own small moments of joy.

Low-key, humble place frequented by Koreans. Their soy-marinated raw crabs were really good although the sizes were on the small side. Their seafood scallion pancake was very good; probably one of the best I've ever had. Their bean curd soup was really bad, however. Probably not their specialty but it was bland and also needed more pork in it. I'd go back for their crabs.

Small mom and pop shop with incredible authentic Korean food! If you’re looking for something homey, this is definitely the place to go to. The marinated raw crab is a must-try!

Raw crab was soy sauce is fresh and delicious! Mixing some rice with the orange crab yolk, it turned out to be a sushi on shell;) The spicy duck casserole was just ok. I would expect more flavors, but the soup was a bit dull.

I’ve been trying to find good gejang spot since I’ve been craving it and nothing has matched up to the gejang I had in Korea but then I tried this place!! I’m so happy I found this spot, the crab isn’t super salty and it’s super meaty and tasty. I would say it is pretty expensive for 3 crabs each serving but it definitely satisfies the craving haha!

I’ve been coming here for the raw crab a couple times now - great price and awesome flavor. We also ordered the bossam and it is served with oyster kimchi (YUM!). Service is good, the ahjummas are so friendly. Every time I come here with my group, we inhale. Proof in the before and after pics.

This is a wonderful place to meet up a small group 2-3 friends. It is not a very big restaurant so it’s not good for a big party. The food is shareable although the portion is a bit small to us. We ordered a marinated soy sauce crab, a beef soup, raw fish with pork, and marinated grill eel. I would say the pork is good but the raw fish is very traditional Korean dish. I personally don’t like that. It’s like a very salty raw fish. The rest of the dishes are good. We went there for marinated soy sauce crab. There is not much place has this dish. It is definitely worth to try if you like soy sauce crab. I can tell they cleaned it very well before marinating the crab. Overall, it is a great place to chill with your friends!
